De Pijp Apartment

Amsterdam, Netherlands

In the vibrant heart of De Pijp, this transformation breathes new life into a classic worker’s apartment, merging thoughtful design with effortless functionality.. Stripped down to its bare bones, the interior was completely gutted—walls, floors, and plaster—making way for a refined, open-plan layout.

A striking new staircase leads to a spacious loft bedroom, replacing what was once a cramped bathroom beneath the roof. Below, a sleek galley kitchen seamlessly connects the dining and living areas. A sliding timber panel allows the living room to transform into a guest bedroom as needed, maximizing functionality within the compact footprint.

Grey oak dominates the material palette, complemented by crisp white walls, stair balustrades, and countertops. Solid wide-plank oak flooring runs throughout, enhancing the apartment’s seamless flow and understated elegance.

De Waterkant Townhouse

Cape Town, South Africa

This Edwardian terrace house in De Waterkant is reimagined with a seamless blend of heritage and modern design. Gutted to its core, the home was expanded with a second-storey extension and a new third level, unveiling sweeping views of the harbour and Table Mountain.

A striking open staircase, crowned by a skylight, floods the narrow home with natural light and connects all levels. The interiors reflect Cape Town’s relaxed elegance with subtle Asian influences, a monochrome palette, and a refined fusion of African and Asian elements.
